‎Celebrating Wizkid's Legacy on His Birthday
‎
‎Today, music lovers around the world celebrate the birthday of Wizkid, one of Africa's most influential artists. Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid has grown from a young boy in Lagos, Nigeria, into a global music icon whose sound has helped shape the international rise of Afrobeats.
‎
‎Since breaking through with Holla at Your Boy in 2010, Wizkid has consistently delivered chart-topping hits while collaborating with some of the biggest names in music. His Grammy Award-winning contribution to Brown Skin Girl with Beyoncé and the worldwide success of Essence featuring Tems cemented his place as one of Africa's greatest musical exports.
‎
‎Wizkid's influence has also reached Malawi. In 2025, he thrilled thousands of fans when he headlined Tay Grin's Music Anniversary celebration, delivering a memorable performance that became one of the country's biggest entertainment events of the year. His appearance highlighted Malawi's growing place on the African music map and gave local fans a rare opportunity to experience one of Afrobeats' biggest stars live.
‎
‎Beyond the awards and sold-out arenas, Wizkid's journey represents resilience, consistency, and the power of African creativity. His music continues to inspire a new generation of artists while proudly carrying African culture onto the world's biggest stages.
‎
‎As fans celebrate another year of "Starboy," they are not just marking his birthday—they are honoring an artist whose influence transcends borders, including the unforgettable memories he created for Malawian fans during his 2025 visit. Happy Birthday, Wizkid!
