Police in Ndirande have reduced cases of domestic violence against women by 92.3% as compared to statistics during the first three quarters of 2025.
The officer in-Charge for Ndirande Police Station Mr. Franz Zex Dzimbiri Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) narrated that Mother’s Day is an important occasion to recognize the sacrifices mothers make in raising children, supporting families and building peaceful communities.
He said as the station joins the celebrations, its Victim Support Unit (VSU) remains on high alert and fully committed to protecting women and mothers from domestic violence and all forms of abuse.
Domestic violence does not only affect the victim. It traumatizes children and destroys families. We encourage families to embrace respect, dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes," said Dzimbiri.
He further appealed to women experiencing abuse not to suffer in silence, and urged the community to promptly report cases to the police for timely intervention.
Dzimbiri also highlighted that Ndirande Police, recognized as a model station with the best gender representation in the South West Region, continues to empower female police officers through a strengthened Women’s Network. The initiative provides mentorship, professional support and leadership development for women in policing.
We believe that empowering our female officers strengthens our ability to better serve and protect women and children in our communities, he added.
Ndirande Police has since reaffirmed its commitment to working with community leaders and stakeholders to prevent violence against women and promote safe and supportive families.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, grandmothers and guardians from Ndirande police
