It is a massive day for Malawian entertainment and sports! In a thrilling crossover that has sent shockwaves across both the music industry and the football fraternity, giants FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have officially unveiled award-winning hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Gwamba as their new official Brand Ambassador.
The landmark signing took place Friday, June 19, 2026, at the club’s corporate headquarters in Blantyre. The multi-year deal seals a powerful relationship between the "Hip-Hop Landlord" and The People’s Team.
From Lifelong Supporter to the Corporate Face
Born Duncan Zgambo, Gwamba has never hidden his deep love for the Red and White side of Blantyre. Speaking right after putting pen to paper, an excited Gwamba described the appointment as a career milestone that feels completely natural.
"If you know Gwamba, then you know I have been a Bullets supporter since childhood, so this appointment is very special to me," Gwamba shared. “It is unique and makes my work much easier because my passion for this club is genuine. Through my music and influence, I want to connect deeply with the supporters, the players, and the entire Bullets family.”
According to a press briefing by Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga, bringing Gwamba on board goes beyond just his massive musical footprint. The club aims to leverage his widespread influence, corporate networks, and entrepreneurial mindset to drive corporate marketing initiatives and lead vital community outreach programs.
Gwamba takes over the mantle from Afro-Dancehall sensation Eli Njuchi (Chifuniro Constantine Magalasi), who served the club with absolute distinction from August 2022 until mid-2026.
Eli Njuchi’s tenure was historic, breaking new ground for how local sports clubs interact with urban musicians. Key highlights from Eli’s era include:
- The Jersey 67 Legend: Eli was uniquely assigned the iconic jersey number 67, paying direct tribute to the year the club was founded (1967).
- Eli Njuchi released two major official anthem songs for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets:
- "Mwana ndi Mwana!" (2025)
- "Maule" (2024)
- Stadium Matchday Performances: He revolutionized matchday entertainment by performing hit songs like Gu Gu Gu and Zitheke live at home games, drawing thousands of younger demographics into local stadiums.
- Nationwide Merchandise Sales: Eli traveled across Lilongwe, Mzuzu, and Blantyre to directly push the sales of official club replicas, heavily boosting the team's commercialization drive.
The partnership marks a fresh strategic shift for the club. While Eli Njuchi successfully introduced the younger, dancehall-loving generation to stadium culture, Gwamba brings a mature, entrepreneurial edge that aligns with the club's corporate vision.
