Cristiano Ronaldo has said the current season is likely to be his last as a professional footballer, marking the end of a remarkable career that has lasted more than 20 years. In an interview with Vogue, the 41 year old Al-Nassr forward said he wants to leave behind a spectacular legacy and that he has already planned life after football, including travel, family time and hobbies such as padel.
Ronaldo’s rise began at Sporting CP before his move to Manchester United in 2003, where he developed into one of the world’s best players and won major trophies including three Premier League titles and the Champions League. He later joined Real Madrid in a record transfer and became the club’s all time top scorer while also winning multiple league titles and Champions League trophies in Spain.
He also won major honours with Juventus, returned briefly to Manchester United and later joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. On the international stage, he led Portugal to their first major title at Euro 2016 and later won the UEFA Nations League in 2019. With his career total standing at 976 official goals in some reports, he is still closing in on the 1,000 goal mark as his final chapter approaches.
