Cameroon has joined Malawi in the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating hosts Morocco in the semi final.
Malawi had earlier secured their place in the final after a strong performance against Algeria. The Scorchers are appearing at the tournament for the first time and have made history by reaching the final in their debut campaign.
Cameroon will now face Malawi in a historic final on Sunday, 16 August. Neither team has previously won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, meaning the match will produce a new continental champion.
The final will be a major moment for both countries. Malawi will be hoping to complete their remarkable debut campaign with their first African title, while Cameroon will be aiming to win the trophy after reaching the final on three previous occasions.
