The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) announces the introduction of virtual classrooms for selected teaching and learning activities in the upcoming semester as it seeks to address a shortage of physical classroom space.
According to a memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar, the university says it is experiencing increasing pressure on the availability of teaching and learning facilities. It adds that the completion of additional physical spaces expected to be ready for the August 2026 opening is delayed.
The university therefore adopts virtual classrooms as an interim measure with the upcoming semester's teaching and learning timetable incorporating the new arrangement following consultations with heads of academic departments.
MUBAS says the move is intended to ensure that academic activities continue without disruption while work to expand physical learning spaces progresses and the Timetabling Committe will organise training sessions for academic staff to equip them with the necessary skills to deliver lessons through the virtual platform.
