Busy Signal has arrived in Malawi for a five day charity tour focused on education and community support, working through his Busy Global Initiative in partnership with the Wendy Harawa Foundation.
The Jamaican dancehall artist told journalists at the Bingu International Convention Centre that Malawi has always shown him love and that this visit is about giving back through philanthropy rather than performance.
The tour’s projects include support for the construction of a school library in Mponela, Dowa and assistance for Nkomachi Primary School in Area 49, Lilongwe, where classroom repairs are needed.
The initiative will also include learning materials, mentorship and other child focused support aimed at improving school conditions and helping local learners.
Busy Signal also said he wants to organize a tribute concert in honour of the late Malawian music legend Lucius Banda, describing him as an important figure in his artistic journey.
